Still Moods and Pure Vibes

Thank you all so much for checking out my new blog. I've had some of these posts here for a little while, but finally decided to move forward with releasing them. I love music immensely and I hope I can share some of that with you all. However, I wanted to really thank my friends in my everyday life who make my stressful life so fun and enjoyable. Y'all are great!

Anywho, I know that the posts so far are centered around metal/heavier music but I promise to write up some new posts soon about a more diverse range of genres (I do have a diverse taste I swear). Till then, I made this playlist for my friends of music I truly think they could all dig. If you are reading this: give the playlist a try, it's got some chill stuff on it. Some of the artists featured I intend to write about too, so stay tuned for that. But with that being said, here's the start of a new music blog that I hopefully won't mess up.

Follow it up and enjoy! More articles soon.

My Top 50 Records Of All Time

I've made so many variations of this list for years now and I never feel satisfied with how any of them have turn out. My taste and leanings have changed and varied throughout the years making for a plethora of changes to any list I'd create. However, I think this is the first time I'm truly satisfied and can say that this is a list that encompasses an honest look into my musical taste. Heavy leanings on sludge metal, black metal, post metal, shoegaze, and punk/hardcore. This is my personal top 50 records of all time:  1.) Amenra - "Mass V" (Released: 2012 on Neurot Recordings) Amenra is one of two favorite bands of all time. They definitely were going to take the #1 spot. This is band that means a lot to me emotionally and can speaks hours and accolades about how truly incredible they are. Best live act you'll ever catch period. While I love each of their records tremendously, I think Mass V will always have a special place in my heart in how it ap...

A Band That I Truly Believe Can Save the World

Let me start off this post with a bit of personal rant on music and people's fascination towards it. We've been partaking in an era of music that needs to be categorized or "genre-fied" if you will. There exists a large plethora of sub-genres in music that almost any style and sound is able to be pigeonholed in our current musical climate. While it is cool that we've come so far in how we are able to describe, categorize, and talk about music, it certainly lends to a larger conversation about how a lot of people inevitably become "stuck." What I mean by this is that there seems to be a large trend of people who will only follow one particular genre or style of music. Now it is cool to like what you like and I by no means am saying that people are wrong for having those likes that they do. That's not what I'm saying here. However, I do believe that the issue at the heart of genre is limitation. The metal heads are not able to give punk or indie ...

In Times of War, In Times of Fighting Categorization: Who is Inter Arma?

Last year in November I was introduced to one of my now all time favorite metal bands. Allow me to paint the scene for you: I was attending a concert that Deafheaven was headlining at a local Miami, Florida venue (Churchill's Pub). Admittedly, I was extremely surprised that we were even able to somehow convince these two acts (minus Carcass sadly) to perform at a local shitty venue but alas it happened! I sort of have a love/hate relationship with this venue, but that's a story for another time. Anyways, a band named Inter Arma was to be the opener that night. I had heard of this band numerous times before, and normally would've looked them up and given them a listen. However, something compelled me not to at the time. I had decided to go in fresh and let the performance be my introduction to what this band was all about. To my joyous surprise, I was very much in love with what I witnessed. It looked a little something like  this.  The lead singer impressed me with his an...
